The main objective behind this forum is to improve the world through public-private cooperation by engaging the foremost politician, business and other leaders of society to shape this world better.

Theme: Creating a shared future in a fractured world.

Well, the theme seems to be quite serious as it mentioned a word FRACTURE WORLD. What actually does the above phase emphasizes?
It points out to the current scenario of the world i.e.

1.     North Korea nuclear Issue
2.     Middle East issue
3.     USA( Paris summit withdrawal)
4.     India-China & India-Pak Border tension.
5.     American First-Foreign policy

Collectively, the entire world is going thorough a change and to balance this change we need to talk and to begin this talk the world economic forum is the biggest platform.

MODI JI AT DAVOS

He started his speech in Hindi and continued the same till he ends. He emphasized on the oldest Upanishad, the Isha Upanishad. He mentioned that Indians consider the world as one big family.
At the global level he gave some strong statements to attract foreign investments. These include:
1.     India will replace red tape with red carpet.
2.     India is safe to invest
3.     India will do everything to make foreign investor to feel at home.
(Red tape is an idiom that refers to excessive regulations)
He also showed his major concern over the three big humanity faces.
1.     Climate change
2.     Terrorism
3.     Reverse globalization

While speaking about the issue of reverse globalization, he didn’t mentioned any particular country but his indication are directly pointing towards china for his protectionism and economic nationalism policies.
Modi pledged to make India a USD 5 trillion economy by 2025.
One important modification he made i.e. some rules for the foreign companies who wish to invest in India and the policy of 30% material i.e. any company who wish to invest in India needs to buy his 30% material from India only, but now this rule has some flexibility, as the new modified rule states that the company can buy his product from anywhere for the first five year of his establishment and thereafter the 30% policy will come into force.
