The world
economic forum was established as a nonprofit organization in GENEVA, Switzerland, in 1971. The organization
was founded by KLAUS SCHWAB.
Every year
the forum is organized at DAVOS and
hence it is also popular as DAVOS SUMMIT. One thing which is very interesting
about WEF is that its base was set up at Geneva but the summit take place at
Davos.
The main
objective behind this forum is to improve the world through public-private
cooperation by engaging the foremost politician, business and other leaders of
society to shape this world better.
Well, the
theme seems to be quite serious as it mentioned a word FRACTURE WORLD. What actually does the above phase emphasizes?
It points
out to the current scenario of the world i.e.

Collectively, the entire world is going thorough a change and to balance this change we need
to talk and to begin this talk the world economic forum is the biggest platform.
He started
his speech in Hindi and continued the same till he ends. He emphasized on the
oldest Upanishad, the Isha Upanishad. He mentioned that Indians consider the
world as one big family.
At the
global level he gave some strong statements to attract foreign investments.
These include:

India
will replace red tape with red carpet.
2.
India
is safe to invest
3.
India
will do everything to make foreign investor to feel at home.
(Red tape is
an idiom that refers to excessive regulations)
He also
showed his major concern over the three big humanity faces.

Climate
change
2.
Terrorism
3.
Reverse
globalization
While
speaking about the issue of reverse globalization, he didn’t mentioned any
particular country but his indication are directly pointing towards china for
his protectionism and economic nationalism policies.
Modi pledged to make India a USD 5 trillion economy
by 2025.
One important modification he made i.e. some rules for the foreign companies who wish to invest in India and
the policy of 30% material i.e. any company who wish to invest in India needs
to buy his 30% material from India only, but now this rule has some flexibility,
as the new modified rule states that the company can buy his product from
anywhere for the first five year of his establishment and thereafter the 30%
policy will come into force.
THE INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT INDEX
In simple words, good inclusive development rank means that the country is developing and the benefit are equally distributed among the poor and the rich.
India ranked 62nd while our
neighbor are well ahead of us( Pak- 47th and China- 26th)
Norway remains the world’s most
inclusive advanced economy.
This award is given to celebrate the achievements of outstanding artist who have shown exemplary commitment to improving the state of the world.

SRK received the
award for "his leadership in championing children's and women's rights in
India,"
He was not the first
Indian to receive this award. The past awardees from India includes Amitab
Bachchan, Malika Sarabhai (Daughter of Vikram Sarabhai), AR rehman, Shabana
Azmi, Ravi Shankar and Amjad Ali Khan.
